Collect FOIA fees online. Funds go straight to you.
When a resident owes a deposit or a balance, they pay it on the portal. The money settles to your bank account, the resident covers the processor fee, and Dekree never touches public funds.
Online fee collection is included at no platform cost. The resident pays the processor fee; funds settle straight to your bank account.
The records are ready. Now you wait two weeks for a check.
Statutory deposits and fee balances stall requests while a check moves through the mail. Dekree lets the resident pay the exact amount online the moment the bill is sent, so fulfillment is not gated on the post office.
Money in, public funds untouched.
Statutory deposit + balance
Collect the 50% deposit under MCL 15.234(8) and the balance, each only after the fee is formally sent. Amounts are computed server-side, never guessed.
Settles to your bank
Payments route through your own connected account directly to your bank. Dekree never holds the funds. That is the architecture, not a promise.
Resident pays the fee
The processor fee is the resident’s, not your office’s. There is no Dekree platform fee on a collected payment.
Card and bank transfer
Residents pay by card or US bank account. You keep your own dashboard for any refund.
Append-only ledger
Every payment is recorded against its request (purpose, amount, and timestamp) for a clean reconciliation.
No platform cost
Payments is free and included. Turn it on when you want online collection; leave it off and nothing changes.
They pay, and the records let go.
Collecting a fee is only half the job. The other half is remembering to release the records once it clears. Turn on auto-release for a request and Dekree does that half for you, the moment the balance is paid.
The resident pays
They pay the exact balance on the portal, by card or bank transfer. It settles to your account.
The records release
Every held record on that request flips to released automatically. No one has to notice the payment came in.
The requester is told
They get the records on their status page right away, and the whole exchange is on the record.
Auto-release is opt-in per request, and a deposit never triggers it. You stay in control of what goes out and when.
