Notice. Agenda. Minutes. In one flow.
Open Meetings Act compliance is a four-step pipeline. Dekree walks every meeting from agenda to minutes to publish. The 18-hour rule is never the thing that bites you again.
II. Approval of April Minutes
Trustee Park moved to approve. Trustee Lewis seconded. Motion carried 5–0.
FIG. 1The OMA pipeline. Agenda and notice complete; minutes drafted and waiting for approval.
One meeting. Four artifacts. Three deadlines. All in your head.
The OMA 18-hour rule. The 8-business-day minutes window. The packet your trustees need by Friday. Dekree carries every one of those clocks for you.
From agenda to published, in four steps.
Build the agenda.
Drag-and-drop items, auto-numbering, time estimates, attached materials. The agenda becomes the spine of every downstream artifact.
Post the notice. On time.
Dekree calculates the OMA 18-hour rule from the meeting time and tells you the exact deadline. One click posts it to your own website, your township office, and your newspaper of record.
Minutes drafted from the recording.
Upload the audio. Dekree transcribes it, drafts the minutes inline, marks the motions, and gets out of your way. You read it, edit it, approve it. The finished document comes out in your board’s own format, and any set downloads as a Word file.
Publish to your own website.
Approved minutes, the agenda, the notice, the packet, all published to the website you already have, in one click. Residents never leave your site, and they can subscribe to .ics calendar feeds.
FIG. 1A meeting agenda in progress, with five items and time estimates.
Every detail of an OMA-compliant meeting, handled.
The notice clock, read correctly
The 18-hour notice applies to special and rescheduled meetings, not to regular ones on your posted schedule. Dekree knows the difference, so it never cries wolf.
Packets that look like packets
A contents page with real page numbers, a divider per item, page stamps, and a clickable outline. Word files and scans are converted in, and anything that will not convert is named to you rather than dropped.
Audio transcription built in
Drop the recording. Get a speaker-diarized transcript. Minutes draft from the transcript.
A meeting calendar on your site
Your meeting calendar, embedded on your own website. Citizens subscribe once and get every meeting on their own calendar.
Approval, not just edit
Minutes lock on approval. Approver and timestamp captured. Audit-ready.
Your minutes, your format
Every board keeps its own minutes format: masthead, section style, how motions read, roll-call vote grids, the signature block. Pick a format and adjust it with a live preview, or upload your current minutes and Dekree matches them. Any set of minutes downloads as a Word document, any time.
Written public comment, before the meeting
Residents send a comment or ask to speak on an upcoming meeting, from your site, no account needed. Comments land on your workspace with a count of who wants to speak, and you decide what goes into the record.
Residents subscribe for updates
Citizens follow a board and get an email the moment an agenda, notice, or minutes are posted. One-click unsubscribe. You turn it on; the reminders run themselves.
A public packet and a board packet
Mark an attachment confidential and it goes only to the board, never the public packet. Closed-session materials are held back automatically. Two packets, one workflow, nothing leaked.
A display for the room
Open one web address on any screen in the chamber: the motion on the floor, the live vote, quorum, and where you are in the agenda. No hardware, and closed session never shows.
Append-only audit trail
Every notice, every approval, every publish, recorded and exportable.
Already have an agenda you like? Keep it.
Most clerks have written their agenda in Word the same way for fifteen years, and most software makes them stop. Dekree does not. Upload your agenda or your notice and it gets published exactly as you wrote it. Not regenerated, not reformatted, not improved. The file residents download is the file you made.
When you start a meeting, Dekree asks how you want to run it: build the agenda here, bring your own, just do the minutes, or just transcribe the recording. Take as much of the product as you want and leave the rest.
- Upload a Word or PDF agenda, published verbatim
- Upload your own notice the same way
- Or build either one in Dekree
- Nothing posts until you post it
The part every other vendor charges extra for.
Open the live console and run the meeting from it. Roll call, motions, votes, and dispositions are captured as they happen, so the minutes are half written before you stand up.
Roll call and quorum
Mark each member present, absent, or late with an arrival time. Dekree computes quorum from the roster and shows it live. Your confirmed attendance always overrides what the recording heard.
Motions and roll-call votes
Capture the motion, the mover, the seconder, and the result. Amendments sit under the motion they amend. Individual names surface on a split vote, where they matter.
Speaker timer
Two, three, or five minutes. Amber under thirty seconds, red when the speaker runs over. Public comment stops being a judgment call.
Dispositions and walk-ons
Record each item as acted, tabled, postponed, withdrawn, or carried over, and add items raised from the floor without breaking the agenda.
Sign the minutes in Dekree
Clerk and presiding officer sign natively, placed for you. No third-party signature product, no printing and scanning.
Nothing falls through
A follow-ups view collects every item you tabled, postponed, or carried over across every meeting, so building the next agenda starts from what is still open.

Meeting recordings: watch the meeting by topic
Hand Dekree the recording, whether that is a YouTube video or a plain audio file, and it builds an agenda-synced, searchable chapter index so residents jump straight to the item they care about.
